Tess Lanning

Tess Lanning is a researcher at the Institute for Public Policy Research, where she works primarily on welfare reform and labour market policy. Before joining IPPR in 2007, Tess was a policy analyst at the International Council of Security and Development. She holds an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies. Tess is the author of several IPPR reports on welfare to work, including In Demand? Welfare to work and the missing jobs and More Than A Foot In The Door: Job sustainability and advancement in London and the UK. She is co-author with Kayte Lawton of Getting What We Deserve? Attitudes to pay, reward and desert and forthcoming reports on workplace democracy and increasing employer demand for skills.
