Elaine Moore

Elaine Moore is Wales Manager for the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils. She has spent her working life in the not-for-profit sector. Her early training was in Education and in the 1970s she served as a volunteer in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic National Teacher Training College. She went on to work in Vietnam, took a Regional Training job with Save the Children covering SE Asia and Pacific and more recently spent six years in Namibia as Oxfam Country Director and latterly working with both houses of the Namibian Parliament. In the UK she has worked with the worker co-operative movement, the CAB service, county voluntary councils and spent five years as a Regional Organiser for UNISON Cymru. She joined the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils as the first Wales Manager in July 2008, fulfilling her habit of trying something new and possibly dangerous every year.
