Philip Barron

 

Philip studied at Leeds University where he completed his degree in English and French and a PGCE in Adult Education. After teaching English in Prague, Philip moved back to Leeds where he worked for five years for Leeds Thomas Danby College in various roles including teaching, community development, research, workbased learning and project management. Moving to the London Development Agency (LDA) in 2007 Philip has worked in the Skills and Employment Team leading a number of strategic projects including the LDA’s European Social Fund Programme, Careers Ladders and a London Skills for Life Strategy. He has also collaborated closely with the Department of Work and Pensions and Skills Funding Agency to jointly commission innovative projects including the Integrated Employment & Skills In Work Trial. Philip is committed to supporting disadvantaged groups and works as a volunteer for Amnesty International and sits on the board of the charity Refugee Youth.
