Chairman of the Gangmasters Licensing Authority

Paul retired in 2001 from a very high profile career in the Police Service, where over 34 years was known for his progressive and energetic approach to the provision of efficient and effective public service, and balancing the conflicting requirements of the individual and the organisation. Before reading Economics at Emmanuel College he worked on VSO as Assistant Bursar at Starehe (a school for destitute boys) in Nairobi, Kenya and is currently chairing an Appeal to raise £10M for the Starehe UK Endowment Fund. Throughout his career was constantly involved as a Trustee of diverse voluntary bodies operating on a national scale. Was appointed Chair of the Gangmasters Licensing Authority in April 2005. Was Vice-Chair of Nacro – the Crime Reduction Charity from 2003 to 2007, when he was appointed Chair of Governors at Sidcot School.
